What does Vice President of Campus Internal Affairs do?

 The Vice President of Internal Affairs oversees student activities including academics, technology, student housing, disability resources & services, student health services and all on-campus resources. They ensure that diversity and campus issues are addressed to administration and senate. Additionally, voice the concerns of students to campus-wide committees and UCR Campus Departments.

R’Campus

-Continue Improvements to Campus Infrastructure and expanded lanes to accommodate Bikes & Scooters. Educate and spread awareness on pedestrian safety at major roads and walkways at UCR.

-Collaboration with SRC and Student Health on fitness and resource events. Encourage Students to utilize campus health and fitness resources through events and workshops

-Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Campus by collaborating with GCAP & Office of Sustainability. Energy Efficiency of campus buildings, and reusing/recycling Academic Materials

-Resources for commuters including parking, and information on accessible transportation services. At the beginning of the quarters releasing pamphlets and social media posts to inform students on bus passes, shuttles, parking permits, and more.

-Resources and Support for students seeking campus housing and residence halls. Ensuring all students are informed on how to apply for housing earlier and be informed on resources will living on and off campus (CalFresh, resident hall dining,etc).

-Events with organizations and ethnic gender programs including fairs, and workshops.Continue to celebrate and recognize diverse cultural groups.

-Collaboration with VP DEI and Ethnic & Gender Programs to celebrate cultural/ethnic holidays.

-Supporting all minority groups voicing their concerns, and advocating for their rights as students

-Highlander Spirit and Culture; Supporting Highlander Athletics by publicizing upcoming games, and helping organize tailgates in collaboration with Office of Personnel and President

-Supporting and Collaborating with Student Life to recognize Student Organizations. Spotlighting the efforts of different organizations for their accomplishments and resources for students

-Assisting with First-year Programs and Highlander Orientation to provide student leadership resources and opportunities to incoming and current first-years

-Providing ASUCR workshops to learn about student government and applying for various positions in executive, legislative, or judicial branches. Giving students the opportunity to advocate for campus issues.

-Collaboration with Career Center on LinkedIn, Handshake, and Resume workshops for students. Educate all students the importance of building a strong career profile to ensure their success post-graduation.

-Entrepreneurship and Innovation Events in collaboration with INNOVAR, Creat’R Lab,

-Workshops in collaboration with Chancellor’s Research Fellowship, School of Medicine, and APRO, to educate students on Research Opportunities.

-Studying Methods and Academic Workshops in collaboration with the ARC. Educate Students on different study methods to succeed in courses provided at UCR.

-Supporting students during course registration and voicing concerns to administrators.
