Anjana Narasimhan has served in student government for two years, as Executive Fellow for Office of the President, Program Coordinator for Civic Engagement Committee, Bourns College of Engineering Senator, and Member of many student government committees.

  • Events

    • Global Fair (two years)

    Led and hosted Global Fair hosting meetings throughout fall quarter and winter quarter, collaborating with over 30+ organizations, Ethnic & Gender Programs, and performance groups. Since first-year as an executive fellow, drafted a proposal for Global Fair, outlined event details, led meetings with 20+ student officials, and documented weekly minutes. The event consisted of performances, cultural fashion show, tabling, and free food/resources for students.

    • Womxn in Unity (two years)

    Led and hosted Womxn in Unity in collaboration with Women’s Resource & Equity Committee, Women’s Resource Center, and student organizations. Recognized 10+ Women Led organizations, including SWE, She Means Business, CARE, Womxn in the Law, CNAS Siters, and more. At the event acknowledged their efforts in representing student needs and empowering womxn across campus.

    • Bank of America Collaboration (one year)

    Collaborated with Bank of America to educate students on financial literacy, setting a bank account, managing finances in college, and building a strong credit score.

    • Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair (coming soon!)

    Collaborating with INNOVAR, Creat’R Lab, Career Center, Office of the President in providing entrepreneurship and innovation resources to students. Coming soon in Spring 2024!

    • BCOE Town Halls (3 Townhalls)

    Organized three BCOE Townhalls to recognize BCOE organizations efforts, hear student feedback, and connect students to Bourns College of Engineering Deans. At Townhalls BCOE Org Presidents spoke about their organizations accomplishments, feedback, and plans for the future quarters.

  • Legislation

    Bourns College of Engineering Senator Legislation

    Amendments to Student Government Bylaws in Office of the President, and the First-year Fellow Program

    Restructured and improved bylaws for the First-year Fellow Program to ensure that future first-year fellows in student government have the resources needed to build their leadership experience at UCR.

    Bike Lanes and Infrastructure Legislation

    Collaborating with Office of Sustainability, Green Campus Action Plan, and Office of Micro mobility to initiate a new Bike infrastructure plan to expand bike lanes to accommodate scooters and bikes. Additionally, collect over 100+ responses on student feedback on campus bike lanes and student safety

    Campus Building Energy Efficiency and Conservation

    Collaborating with Office of Sustainability, Green Campus Action Plan, and BCOE Departments to ensure that campus buildings are turned off late at night to conserve energy. Working with different student government leaders to ensure that R’Campus is energy efficient.

  • Secondary Author or Sponsor on all GCAP resolutions led by Green Campus Action Plan

    Executive Fellow Legislation/Conferences

    Campus Safety Escort Service, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community members. This service provides a secure environment for students on campus.

    Menstrual Product Resolution: advocating for the accessibility and affordability of menstrual products on campus.

    Contraceptive vending Machines: This initiative aims to provide convenient access to reproductive health resources, promoting responsible and informed choices.

    Students of Color Conference- Amplifying Voices: Represented UCR at the Student of Color Conference hosted by UC Davis, engaging in discussions and initiatives to address challenges faced by students of color.

    Art, Film, and Music festival that celebrates UCR’s art department and student artists. Collaborating with Office of the President, UCR Art Departments, and Senate Intern to celebrate our students incredible talents.
